Minor Infractions Defined

Minor infractions are discipline incidents that can be handled by the teacher and do not warrant a disciple referral to the office.

Student engages a in low-intensity instance of inappropriate language


Student habitually loses materials or does not have the needed papers and supplies.


Student refuses to work and follow directions, throws items, sleeps during class

Minor disruptions

Student engages in behavior causing an interruption in class (ex., loud talk, horseplay, out of seat behavior)

Misuse of technology

Student engages in non-serious, but inappropriate use of technology

Disrespect to authority

Student delivers socially rude or dismissive messages to adults


Student delivers message that is untrue and/or deliberately violates rules

Disrespect to peers

Student delivers socially rude or dismissive messages to peers
